ABOUT ME
Joy Lawrence OH is an educator, author of several books on Antigua & Barbuda’s folklore and history, and a poet. Her latest books include The Way We Are, 2025, and Bethesda and Christian Hill: Our History and Culture (Revised Edition) 2024. Her first was Island Spice in 1996. Other publications include The People’s Point, an Antiguan Waterfront Community, with reference to Villa, 2022, The Way We Talk and other Antiguan Folkways 2016, Barbuda and Betty’s Hope: The Codrington Connection 2015, The Footprints of Parham: The History of a Small Antiguan Town and its Influence, 2013, Caribbean Creoles 2005, Colours and Rhythms of Selected Caribbean Creoles 2003.
